My Background

Welcome to my blog. While in Bonaire, I hope to update this website every day or so with news and views from Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands. I’ll be on the mission field from July 30 to Sept. 15, 2012, working with Trans World Radio.

This trip is a lifelong dream come true. In a way, it is like going home. As a child, I lived on Bonaire for six years when my parents, Lloyd and Eleanor McDonald, served with the same mission. Now, 28 years later, I am going back to follow in their footsteps, even if it is only for seven weeks.

We arrived on Bonaire the first time in 1973 when I was 10 years old. In 1979, when I was 16, I returned to Canada to complete my highschool education, while mom and dad stayed in Bonaire for another five years. During this time I lived with my aunt and uncle, Gloria and Bill Foster. Until mom and dad retired from the mission field in 1984, I traveled back each year to visit them.
